Every processed sermon can have its own public page with the summary, key quotes, scriptures and full transcript, in English and your other languages. This article shows how to share those pages and how to keep a sermon off the public web.

Who it's for#

  • Pastors and communications volunteers who share sermons by email, text or social media.
  • Church admins who decide which services are public.

Before you start#

  • The sermon has finished processing. See Your sermon archive.
  • You can sign in to the dashboard and open Events.

Sermon visibility#

Each sermon has one of three settings:

SettingWho can see it
PublicAnyone. Shown on your church page, in search results, and on Google.
UnlistedOnly people with the link. Not shown in search.
PrivateOnly your team, in the dashboard.

New sermons are Public.

Change a sermon's visibility#

  1. Click Events in the dashboard menu and open the sermon.
  2. At the top of the event page, open the visibility menu and pick Public, Unlisted or Private.
  3. A short description next to the menu explains the choice, and you'll see "Visibility updated."

What each setting changes#

  • Public sermons are listed on your church page and sermon archive, grouped on topic and scripture pages, added to the sitemaps Google reads, and found by search.
  • Unlisted and Private sermons are removed from those lists, sitemaps and search. Their sermon page stops opening for people without a special link.
  • The links in your sermon summary emails carry a special code, so they keep working even after you make a sermon unlisted or private. Anyone you forward the email to can open it.

Step-by-step: share a sermon#

Share the public sermon page#

  1. Open your church's sermon archive: sermonwave.com/church/your-church/sermons/. (The setup guide's Public pages step has your exact links.)
  2. Click the sermon. Its page shows the audio player, summary, topic tags, Key Quotes, Scripture, Show Full Transcript and Related Sermons.
  3. If the sermon was translated, use the language links at the top of the page to switch languages.
  4. Copy the address from your browser and share it.

Sermon pages have addresses like sermonwave.com/church/your-church/sermons/sermon-title-2026-09-27/. The address is made from the sermon title and date.

Share it with your congregation#

Your listener page shows every recent sermon with audio, transcript and summary, and listeners can read it in their language. Share your listener link (see Share your listener link and QR code) and point people to Recent Sermons.

  1. Copy the sermon page address.
  2. In the dashboard, go to Links and click Create Link.
  3. Paste the address as the Destination URL, choose type Event, and give it a Label.
  4. Use Copy, QR Code or Download PDF on the new link.

Email the summary#

On the event page, click Resend Email, enter an address, and send. The email has the summary, scriptures and key quotes, with a link to the full transcript. Use this for unlisted sermons you want to share privately.

Help sermons get found (SEO)#

You don't need to do anything technical. SermonWave handles the basics for every public sermon:

  • Each sermon page has its own title and description for search results, and for previews when the link is shared on social media.
  • Sermon pages exist in each translated language, with English as the main version.
  • Sitemaps tell Google about new church and sermon pages automatically. There's nothing to submit.
  • Sermons are grouped by topic and by book of the Bible on sermonwave.com.

New pages usually show up in Google within a few days to a few weeks.

What helps most:

  • Give sermons clear titles. Click the title on the event page to edit it.
  • Fill in your church details and logo, so your church page looks complete. See Church profile.
  • Link to your church page from your own website and social media.

Troubleshooting#

The sermon page says "not found". The sermon may be unlisted or private, or still processing. Check its visibility on the event page.

An old sermon link opens a different address. That's on purpose: when a sermon's address changes, the old address forwards to the new one, so shared links don't break.

A sermon I made private still appears in Google. Search engines update on their own schedule. The page no longer opens, and it will drop out of results over time.

FAQ#

Should all sermons be public?#

Most churches keep sermons public so more people find them. Make a service unlisted or private if it includes something personal, such as a members' meeting or a prayer time with names.

Can I hide a single sermon from my church page but still send it to someone?#

Yes. Make it Unlisted, then use Resend Email to send the summary to that person.

Who can change visibility?#

Anyone on your team who can open the sermon in the dashboard. Each change applies right away.
