This article walks you through creating a SermonWave account for your church, what your free trial includes, and how to sign in afterward.
Who it's for#
- The first person at your church to set up SermonWave. You become the church's first Org Admin, so you can invite your team and choose a plan later.
- Anyone comparing plans before they commit.
Before you start#
- An email address you check. It becomes your username.
- Your church's name.
- About five minutes. No credit card is needed to start the trial.
Step 1 — Fill in the sign-up form#
- Go to sermonwave.com/signup.
- Enter your Church name, First name, Last name and Email.
- Create a Password. It needs 8 or more characters, with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a number and a symbol. The checklist under the field turns green as you meet each rule. Use Show to check what you typed.
- Tick the box to agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
- Click Create free account.
SermonWave creates your church, makes you its admin, starts your trial and signs you in. You don't have to confirm your email first. You land in the setup guide in your dashboard at dashboard.sermonwave.com.
Step 2 — Check your welcome email#
A few minutes after signing up you get an email titled "Welcome to SermonWave — your 14-day free trial has started". It shows:
- your username (your email address),
- the date your trial ends,
- a button to open your dashboard.
The email never contains your password.
Step 3 — Walk through the setup guide#
The setup guide takes about ten minutes. Each step can be skipped and finished later:
- Welcome: your trial dates and the plans.
- Your church: name, address, timezone and website. See Add your church profile.
- Audio: choose how SermonWave will hear the sermon. See Choose a device type.
- Device: create your first device.
- Listeners: preview what your congregation sees.
- Public pages: your church page and sermon pages.
- Done.
Click Finish later to leave at any time. To come back, click the ? at the top of any dashboard page and choose Setup guide.
What the free trial includes#
Your trial starts when you sign up and lasts 14 days:
- Unlimited use. Translate as many services as you like.
- One device. A web device (a browser on a laptop) or an SW1 box.
- Live captions and translated audio on listeners' phones.
- Your sermon archive with transcripts and summaries.
- Public church and sermon pages.
You get reminder emails 3 days and 1 day before the trial ends. When it ends, live translation and new recordings pause until you choose a plan. Your archive, listener page and sermon pages stay online. See Plans and your free trial.
Plans at a glance#
| Plan | Price | Includes | Each extra device |
|---|---|---|---|
| Web | $100/month | 1 web device | $25/month |
| SW1 hardware | $150/month | 1 SW1 box, shipped to you | $75/month |
| Video | $200/month | 1 video web device (video features coming soon) | $100/month |
Plans stack: you can combine them on one monthly bill.
Signing in later#
- Go to dashboard.sermonwave.com.
- Enter your Username. For the account you created at signup, that's your email address.
- Enter your Password and click Sign In.
Forgot it? Click Forgot your password?, enter your username and click Reset Password. You get an email with a reset link. The link works for 1 hour, and you can ask for one reset per hour.
Troubleshooting#
"An account with this email already exists." That email already has a SermonWave login. Click Sign in, or click Reset your password if you don't remember it.
The password field stays red. Check the rule list under the field. Every rule must be met, including a symbol such as ! or #.
The reset email doesn't arrive. Check your junk or spam folder. Requests are limited to one per hour, so extra clicks are ignored. Make sure you entered your username, not your name.
The sign-up button spins and nothing happens. A browser extension or a strict network may be blocking the security check. Try another browser or network, or contact support.
